Positions within our Supply Chain & Transportation group include:

Transportation
Maximize the efficient and effective flow of product deliveries from Regional Distribution Centers to our national network of retail stores. Serve as a vital liaison between Lowe’s IT operation and business users to assist in communication, technical development and process improvement. Develop and maintain relationships with new and existing carriers to ensure the optimization of our supply chain and delivery network, and positively impact the fiscal performance of Lowe’s. Specific opportunities and duties include:

Distribution Center Outbound Group - providing flawless product delivery from RDCs to stores, and facilitating each store’s ability to get their customers the right product at the right time in order to drive sales.

Transportation Development Group - monitoring systems and processes, ensuring that upgrades, changes and maintenance items are managed properly and efficiently.

International Transportation Group - transporting imported product from the U.S. Port of Entry (or Railhead) to the Import Trap, Distribution Center, or directly to a Lowe’s store.

Inbound Truckload Transportation Group - scheduling all truckload shipments destined for Lowe’s RDCs and stores.

Less Than Truckload Group - developing transportation programs, as well as relationships with carriers, to include contract and rate negotiations, carrier selection for state-to-state-lanes, and performance monitoring of chosen carriers to ensure exceptional service levels.

Supply Chain Development
Build innovative, flexible and sustainable Supply Chain solutions that serve our customers and grow profits. Identify and manage the implementation of the optimal method of moving products from Lowe's vendors to Lowe's stores. Contribute to one of many complementary groups within Supply Chain Development, while supporting the overall success of the business unit and Lowe’s in general. Specific opportunities and duties include:

Channel Management - supporting the three fundamental roles of Supply Chain Analytics, Supply Chain Process and Supply Chain Projects, through the development and deployment of tools that improve decision-making and organizational efficiency.

Supply Chain Engineering – planning, building, maintaining and improving distribution
tools (facilities, processes, equipment, and systems) to continually position the Lowe’s Supply Chain for service excellence.

Process Management - providing “WOW” customer service, through sound process improvement, communications, procedural documentation, data management and systems administration to achieve departmental and organizational goals.

Supply Chain Data Management - ensuring systems data integrity and providing quality reporting and analytical tools to the Supply Chain organization.

Logistics
Manage, support and coordinate inventory levels across our network of distribution centers and retail locations. Leverage developed logistic and estimation skills to ensure maximized efficiency and accuracy across all forecasting functions. Develop programs and execute logistics strategies. Create and nurture relationships with key vendors, ensuring the viability and future success of the Lowe’s supply chain network. Specific opportunities and duties include:

Supply Chain Event Management – providing supply chain support on events that require additional coordination and planning to ensure proper inventory levels are on-hand at Lowe's distribution facilities and stores.  

Forecasting - driving sales through better in-stock positions, creating improved accuracy and forward visibility that not only save costs, but also improve availability and flow of product to the stores.

New Store Group - serving as the main contact for new store set-up, and monitoring/correcting the new store inventory flow and merchandising processes.

Replenishment, Service Level Management – monitoring Service Level performance to ensure that each teams’ targeted levels for stores and distribution centers by product group are maintained.

Replenishment, Parameter/Program Management – coordinating the execution of twenty different activities/processes to ensure the effective management of Lowe’s Replenishment Programs, including: promotions, resets, product flow optimization, and identifying/resolving exceptions.

Replenishment, Order Creation – placing orders with vendors, through our replenishment programs, following established program parameters and guidelines.

Replenishment, Order Management – diligently monitoring the flow of purchase orders, and performing exceptions reporting to target late orders (both domestic and import).  

Replenishment, Performance Management – monitoring all aspects of the replenishment function, to ensure performance goals are achieved.

Replenishment, Store and Team Support – providing timely response to store 5.3 inventory requests, store e-mails and phone calls, and Command Center activations, as well as actively engaging in team meetings to ensure our customer expectations are being met.

Planning - developing strategic objectives to improve supply chain efficiency, reliability and responsiveness while coordinating program plans within the Merchandising divisions.

Vendor Supply Chain Management - identifying and implementing supply chain process improvements through collaboration with strategic supplier partners, while driving profitability into product teams by optimizing ship units, the distribution channel, packaging and freight.
