Critical Illness Plan

Eligibility: Regular full-time employees after 89 days of continuous employment and regular part-time employees at date of hire

Critical Illness Plan pays a lump sum benefit that can be used to help cover out-of-pocket expenses related to eligible critical illnesses/diseases. Benefits are non-taxable and do not coordinate with other types of benefits employees may receive. Coverage amounts are available in increments of $10,000 up to a maximum of $50,000.

Flexible Spending Accounts (FSA)

Eligibility: All regular full-time employees after 89 days of continuous employment.

FSA's allow employees to save money on a pre-tax basis to pay for eligible healthcare and dependent care expenses.

The Plan offers two reimbursement account options:

  • Healthcare Reimbursement - maximum contribution of $2,500 a year with a minimum contribution of $250 a year, and/or
  • Dependent Care Reimbursement - maximum contribution $5,000 (or $2,500 if married filing single) per year with a minimum contribution of $250 per year

The IRS places strict guidelines on this type of plan. One of the most important is the "Use-it-or-Lose-it" rule. Money left in the Plan cannot be rolled over to the next plan year and cannot be paid to the employee.

Employee Discounts

Eligibility: All employees (full-time, part-time and temporary) first day of employment

Employees may purchase company products at a 10% discount. Purchases must be for the use of the employees, their dependents, or as bona fide gifts.

Auto and Home Insurance

Eligibility: All regular full-time employees, after 89 days of continuous employment

Lowe's offers a group auto and home insurance program from MetLife Auto and Home. This program provides employees with wide range of policies, including:

Auto, home, condo, mobile home, renter's, boat, landlord's rental dwelling, personal excess liability (umbrella), recreational vehicle and fire insurances. The cost of this insurance may or may not be lower than comparable insurance available on an individual basis.

Hyatt Pre-Paid Legal Services

Eligibility: All regular full-time employees, after 89 days of continuous employment

Lowe's offers the opportunity to participate in a pre-paid legal plan through Hyatt Legal Plans. Participants have unlimited access to more than 9,000 participating attorneys.  Plan attorneys have met stringent selection criteria and have an average of more than 17 years of legal experience.

Direct Deposit
The ability to have payroll funds deposited directly into a bank account of your designation is a benefit is available immediately upon hire to all employees.
